The Texas Lowrider Council is a group of Car Clubs that have come together in order to unite and strengthen Houston’s lowriding culture. They have organized events that the whole family can come out and enjoy. Lowriding has always been about family and the Texas Lowrider Council is trying to unite all car clubs and solo riders into one big family. They hosted their first picnic of 2019 at Mason Park in Magnolia on January 5th, 2019. I had a great time catching up with friends and checking out everyone’s rides. It was pretty crowded so I wasn’t able to get as many photos as I would have loved to have gotten but I’ll share some of my favorites.
We also had a TV crew out in the park shooting a scene for a Netflix series called Muddy Waters. The show is based out of Houston, Tx. and has filmed with some of Houston’s finest lowriders a couple of times now. I was able to grab a few shots of them shooting the scene.
After the Show and Shine Picnic we were escorted through town by some of our very own Bikers. Shout out to them for keeping us all together and making sure the cruise went smoothly.
We cruised over to Talento Bilingue De Houston. Talento Bilingue De Houston’s mission is to educate all by preserving, presenting and promoting Latino Cultures through the performing, visual and literary arts. It was the perfect place to end our evening. They were very welcoming and we already have other events scheduled at the center in the future. Oldies Car Club will be hosting their 14th year anniversary there on Cinco de Mayo this year. They are planning a lowrider show in the day time followed by a dance in the evening with concerts both inside and outside so stay tuned for more details on that.
